Habitat Detroit Global Village Trip - Yerevan, Armenia

Each year, Habitat Detroit tithes to Habitat affiliates overseas, including Habitat Armenia. Please join us as we follow our tithe by taking a Global Village trip to Yerevan, Armenia from September 7th-17th. It will be an unforgettable trip with a good balance of building at the Yerevan Habitat affiliate and exploring Armenia!

Eight participants will be "following our tithe" and building at the Yerevan Habitat affliate, and exploring Armenia. Katie Kowalski, HFHD Development Specialist, will be posting daily blogs to capture this exciting trip at http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Katie-K/

Detroit has a long history as home to some of the best up and coming musicians, and some of Detroit’s own will be getting together to build a home for a Detroit family in need.

Hurricane Relief Assistance Projects

Habitat Detroit partnered with The University of Michigan Alumni Association, local alumni, students, and Habitat volunteers to support Hurricane relief and frame five homes May 17-21, 2006. Check out the Little Big House  for photos and more information about the build.

During the SuperBuild from January 28th to February 2nd, the wall frames for 40 “Habitat homes in a box” were completed to be shipped to Forth Worth, Houston and College Station, Texas. There the wall units were quickly rebuilt for families displaced by hurricanes Katrina and Rita seeking to permanently relocate to those communities.
